As a longtime rider of the G train, I understand the pain when the train doesn’t show up. While undoubtedly it has been better recently than in the “Ghost train” era, soon this summer we are going to lose even the current service for some period of time. We need a local train in this community that will show up in the mornings more than once every seven minutes at peak rush hour. As the only train that runs on the line from Brooklyn to Queens, increasing service should not be hard, we just need the resources and the political will to make it happen. Make the G run line the L.
In Williamsburg, there is also much room to expand service on the JMZ trains. Currently in the mornings during rush hour, the only available train from Williamsburg stations Lorimer St. and Hewes St. towards Manhattan is the M train, running roughly every eight minutes (!) This should be unacceptable at the busiest times of the day and we could easily get more train service on the Jamaica line for commuters at these stations whose stations are skipped by the express J and Z, at least as far as Delancey/Essex Sts. in Manhattan.
We can run more trains.
